Security Levels

Public or Private? It's your choice.

Currently the Viovio security settings are controlled by your master-setting that you select in your account. You can review your selection by clicking "My Account" at the top right of your page -> then click to select "Preferences" at the top left of that page -> then scroll down and look where it says "User Information" and you will see underneath this the option to select private or public.

If you select "private" here and then click the green "change preferences" button at the bottom of the page then all your information through-out your account will be set to private.

If you select "public" here then you will have the options of customizing your privacy settings. You can learn more about how to accomplish this by watching these screencasts!

Explanation of Privacy Settings

As users of our own software, we value security just as much as you do. We know some pictures you want to show to the world, while others need to be kept just for those you love. Viovio lets you choose which materials you would like to share, and which you would like to be kept hidden.

Viovio offers several levels of security for your photos. When editing a gallery, you can add a Security Level under the Advanced Options tab. The security levels are:

Hidden
Hidden security can allow anyone to access your images, galleries, or products as long as they know the exact URL.

Password Protected
In order to view your images, galleries, or product, any visitor must know the answer to a question you determine, such as "What is the name of our dog?". This makes it a great option for family and friends.

Private
With the tightest of security controls only you can view your materials when you are logged in.

When editing your gallery you can create a new Security Level under the "Advanced Options" tab. Give the Security Level a name like "Proprietary Photos" and check "Private". Click save, and your photos will now be only be visible to you.

Making the PREVIEWS publicly viewable:
You can make the preview viewable to the public by clicking on the Layout Preview located at Step 3 - it's the green button underneath the image of the cover. Click the Layout Preview and then once it opens, click the big grey button titled "Edit Public Preview" - then select the option to "Show public customers a custom preview." Once selected click the grey "Finished" button and the settings will save.

We suggest to check your new settings using a browser that is not logged into Viovio!
