Pages Missing from my Photo Book

by Carol Drum, Fri 22 of Mar, 2013 (19:54 UTC)
I uploaded a book from iPhoto. It looks great but the panels on the inside of the front and back of the book are not showing. I know they were part of the upload so how can I get them into the book?

Hi Carol,

I tried e-mailing you about this also. I logged into your account and see the flaps are there, you just have to select "Dust Jacket Cover" on step 2.

Hope this helps! Please e-mail support@viovio.com if you have further questions.

Warm regards,
Meghan

Loose Pages _ Portrait 8.5 x 11

by Madeline D, Sat 09 of Feb, 2013 (19:55 UTC)
This is my first time using this company for printing, and plan on ordering several portfolio books within the next few months

Right now, I am interested in ordering loose pages that are portrait 8.5 x 11, but I want to upload them as a PDF and not use the template program on the website.

How should I go about doing this?

Madeline,

Greetings from Viovio, we do offer Loose Pages!

You have the option to print the pages either double-sided, or 1-sided. For double-sided printing each side of a sheet of paper is considered a page, so each sheet of paper consists of 2 pages. The minimum page count is 10.

If you are capable of saving the project as a single Print ready PDF you can upload the loose pages here: http://www.viovio.com/products/pdf/

Once the project is uploaded you will be lead to your purchase options page where Loose pages will be one of the purchase options available to you. Here is an example: http://www.viovio.com/shop/26787

Before uploading the project I would review the margins. You can read all about this here: http://www.viovio.com/wiki/Cropping+And+Bleed

Kind regards,

Spine Text

by Suzanne, Thu 07 of Feb, 2013 (00:08 UTC)
It appears, much to my disappointment, that the spine text can't be centered on the spine. Appears as though it can only be on the upper and/or lower portion of the spine. I prefer mine in the center. Is there any workaround to have the spine in the center?

Also, what font size do you recommend for a 100-page hardcover photo album? I used 36 Tahoma, then tried 45, both of which barely show up in the preview panel. A moot point if the text can't be on the center of the spine, though. In that case, I need to look for a different photo book publisher.

Thanks,
Suzanne

Hello, Suzanne!

Unfortunately, there is no way to center the spine. The spine text is also automatically sized so that it does not bleed onto the front and back cover, which is why it dies not appear to change when you change the size.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

I wouldn't want the spine text to wrap onto either the front or back cover. Instead, I'd like it to be printed sideways (centered onto the length of the spine) from top to bottom. That's how my other published photo books have the text, and I like it that way. Do you think Viovio will ever add this option in the future?

Thanks,
Suzanne

Suzanne,

Greetings from Viovio!

You have the option to use the spine text tool available at Step 2 to perfectly place the spine text without it bleeding onto either the front or back cover!

This option does not allow you the center the spine length-wise. Currently it is not scheduled in Engineering to add this functionality to the spine text tool.

Size of 12 x 12 Photo Book Pages

by Suzanne, Sun 03 of Feb, 2013 (15:47 UTC)
Oh dear. I just uploaded 99 jpeg files (dig scrapbook pages created in Photoshop) and plan to order a 12x12 book. My pages are all 12 x 12 inches; I've been careful to keep all elements, etc., within the red (1/2") border. However, as I was reading the questions/answers re: book cover specs, I just discovered your recommendation that both the cover AND the interior pages should be 1/2 larger than the desired size. Which means I should have created each of those pages 12.25 x 12.25, rather than 12 x 12.

Must I delete the entire photo book, go back and resize every one of 99 pages? (Please say no. I beg of you.)

Thanks,
Suzanne

Suzanne,

Greetings from Viovio!

These should work perfectly. The way to check and make sure would be to click forward to the Layout Preview at Step 3. Then you can check the pages against the Red Crop guide. As long as none of the content falls underneath the Red Crop guide then the images will scale and work just fine!

You can read all about this here: http://www.viovio.com/wiki/Cropping+And+Bleed

If it doesn't work, or if you'd like to have support take a look at the project for you, you can always email support@viovio.com with a note about the concern and we'll take a closer look!

Best,
