Virginia Tech

Here are some pics of the Virginia Tech campus I have taken over the years. I think it's unique Gothic style and Hokie Stone make it one of the prettiest campuses around. Compared to the dominant Colonial style buildings in most east-coast US universities, it stands out. There are 8 (?) gargoyles on campus! Next time I go, I need to get pics of them all. I'm still grappling with what happened there, but viewing beautiful things helps me remember there is much more beauty in the world than ugliness. Perhaps it is why the ugliness gets so much attention - it is fortunately much more rare.

Hi from Blacksburg

Christian,
Hi! I am Nancy's sister from above comments. I thought you might like to look at the VT book I did on your site several years ago about gifts to VT given after 4/16. It is called After April 16 - Gifts of Healing and Hope by Anne Judkins Campbell. I took a bunch of pics on the 1st year anniversary too. I live in Blacksburg about 1/2 mile from campus. You should come visit sometime and stay with us!
Best regards,

Go Hokies!!

by Nancy Esarey, 05 May 2007 (02:06 UTC)
I grew up at VT. My dad taught at VT for 29 years. I was at VT the week before the massacre showing our foreign exchange student what a wonderful place it was and IS!! When I went to the website for PrestoPhoto and saw that there was a VT connection, I knew this was the place for me. I just ordered my first photo book. Can't wait to receive it!!
Again, GO HOKIES!!

Hi Nancy,

So glad to have you here! I'd love to see any Virginia Tech pics you have. Currently I'm trying to locate all the gargoyles.
