Adjusting Die-cut Cover Padding

Adjusting Die-cut Cover Padding

This is an excellent example of using a custom die-cut padding to allow a portion of the cover image to peak through the die-cut window. However, the full-wrap cover is still large and dramatic for maximum effect with perfect binding.

Microsoft Applications Slicing PDF Images

Microsoft Applications Slicing PDF Images

For unknown reasons, Microsoft applications often slice a full size image into many equal slices. Unfortunately, the printer sees these as individual images, which they are. We are still trying to track down why this is, and how to prevent it. If you have any information, please leave a comment!

CMYK vs RGB

CMYK vs RGB

For most photographs, we recommend you use RGB since that is native to most cameras. The printer however, uses CMYK. Most of the time, this is not a problem. However, it you get into advanced layout and design, you can see in this example the problems that can arise. Because CMYK has fewer colors than RGB, some color information can be lost when moving from the source image to the printer, or you can see a dramatic color shift. For cases like this, we recommend users upload a complete PDF with the images already in the CMYK color space. Currently, our BookMaker does not handle CMYK images properly - something we hope to address soon.

Inside Cover

by Ruud, Friday 24 of August, 2007 (15:57:49 UTC)
Hi,
Nowhere in your explaining pages I can find how to give the inside cover pages (front and back) a bleeding color or a picture with text?
You talk about uploading the cover and inside separately, but where does the inside start? Is it the inside cover?
Please let me know!
Thanks, Ruud
