I created a landscape 9X7 but it is showing in the cover preview as portrait. How do I fix it?

Adrain, When you upload a PDF our system will automatically select the book trim size that most closely matches your PDF size. For example, if you plan to create our 11x8.5 die-cut hardcover book you will want to create your PDF as an 11x8.5 file instead of 8.5x11 landscape. Same is true for 9x7. Create the file as 9x7 not 7x9 landscape

Gutter extend 3/4" on spread layouts

by Bob, Friday 14 of November, 2008 (19:24:55 UTC)
I already have my layout in Quark, set up as 2-page spreads (singles, side by side). On each page the photo/illustration crosses over the gutter (gutter jump). How can I set the document up so I can still give you a 3/4" bleed in the gutter area without the other page/ image overlapping? Do I need to set the document up as single pages(in the page dialog box- one on top of each other instead of side by side. Also I have the art set within a frame 1/2" inside the trim all the way around. You only mention full bleed. Is the 1/2" white area ok with your process?

I would upload the file to your account and send a note to support@viovio.com to ask that they review the file for you. It is hard to advise without seeing the file.

Creating Adobe PDF Version 1.5 spec output

by Doug O'Brien, Monday 10 of November, 2008 (03:48:05 UTC)
Other than buying Adobe Acrobat to create PDF's that are the Adobe version 1.5 spec VioVio requires for accurate printing, what other options exist to create PDF's without spending a bunch? I checked several of the ones VioVio recommends on this site, and most create version 1.4 spec files

Doug, the 1.5 comes into play when your PDF has transparencies and embedded fonts. If you don't have fonts or transparencies the 1.4 should work for you.

problem uploading

by Janine Carroll, Thursday 06 of November, 2008 (03:06:36 UTC)
have created a 22 page digital scrapbook with photoshop elements 7. I then created pdf's of each file and grouped them together in one file using adobe professional 7. I have tried to download the file to your site and every time in brings up the "server not responding page, please refresh." Could it be my file is just two big (1.4MB approx) I also tried just uploading page 1 as a pdf verion 7 and as version 6.0 I also tired page 1 as a jpeg and all times I get the same problem. Am I doing somthing wrong or is something wrong with your server. What is your max file size...?

Janine, are you trying to upload to the FTP server? If yes, then we need to give you access. We limit access so that bots can't post to the server. Send a note to support@viovio.com and ask for access to the FTP server. Include your login ID

Similar Question--Adobe Photoshop Elements Version 7 does a great job of creating a photobook allowing you to place photos that bleed across facing pages to use as backgrounds, etc. My question is can the entire Photoshop Elements Photobook file be saved as a single PDF and uploaded for print by VioVio and have the page layouts and bleeds hold as they look in Elements?

Doug, you should be able to upload the PDF with no trouble in terms of the image that bleeds across 2-pages. Just make sure that each page is an individual page in the PDF. Here is a link to our page on 2-page spreads You can see that we need two separate pages even for the 2-page spreads
