Scrapbook Software Reviews

There are many different types of software and a wide assortment of websites to help you improve your digital scrapping skills.

Scrapping Software

Indigo Rose Scrapbook Max (SM) Novice. Easy to use software that utilizes customizable templates. Limited flexibility, low learning curve.

Scrapbook Factory Deluxe (SFD) Novice. This scrapbooking software provides good results without much or a learn curve. Low to moderate flexibility.

Hallmark Scrapbook Studio (HSS) Novice. Low learning curve and very limited flexibility. Good for the casual user.

Lumapix FotoFusion (FF) Novice/intermediate. Easy to use software that offers a little more flexibility than most entry level software.

Ulead Photoimpact (PI) Intermediate. This scrapbooking software provides great results without a huge learning curve.

Corel/Jasc Paint Shop Pro (PSP) Intermediate. This scrapbooking software is a powerful graphics program

ACDSee PhotoManager & Photo Editor]. Intermediate. Many scrappers that use Adobe Photoshop Elements use ACDSee's PhotoManager to keep track of their scrapping supplies. The new ACDSEE PhotoEditor is a strong imaging software in its own right with a great deal of flexibitly.

Adobe Photoshop Elements (PSE) Intermediate. This scrapbooking software is a "light" version of Photoshop. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but is still a very powerful program. The majority of scrapbooking tutorials are written for this program and it is a common choice for the dedicated digital scrapper!

Adobe Photoshop (PS/CS) Advanced. This is the most powerful scrapbooking software and graphics program out there. The possibilities are endless. It is a difficult program to learn, but well worth the effort.

This is only a partial list of the many different image/graphic programs that can be used for digital scrapbooking. Many of them offer free trial downloads, so experiment and find the one that is right for you!

I am wondering if anyone knows if Microsoft publisher will work to make scrapbook layouts to be printed? I can save the files as a jpeg. Also when you print single pages is there a number that you have to print at a time?

Creative Memories' Storybook Creator Plus

Have you worked with Creative Memories' Storybook Creator Plus software? It is very easy to use (much easier I think than Photoshop Elements) and can convert to a pdf file easily. You can use it with other digital elements (kits and brushes). They have a free download for the original software that you can only use to make their books, but it really shines with the upgrade to Plus. At least you can try out software to play with it, and if you like it, buy the upgrade where you can print off single pages or a whole album. Plus they have free digital kits online you can download.
