Using Aperture output pdf to make book

by RB, Thu 18 of Jun, 2009 (22:01 UTC)
I created a book using Aperture and had it printed by mac. Since then, I have lost the Aperture project file or "vault", but still have what I believe is a full-res pdf file with the name — "temp-fstpBook-*******.pdf". Opening it up in Acrobat, it looks fine. How do I go about having viovio print this book again for me without having to re-create the book? Thanks in advance.

RB,

You could upload one of two ways — 1) zipping your images in a folder or uploading via FTP.

Here is a link to our page about zipping and uploading http://www.viovio.com/wiki/index.php?structure_id=412

We prefer one complete PDF or separate .jpg files. We recommend your images be at 300 dpi.

shipping costs

by Karen, Wed 17 of Jun, 2009 (19:30 UTC)
I need a quote on shipping costs as they are not clear on your website. I would be making 20 books that are soft cover, A4 size, and 20 pages each. They need to be shipped to CA.

I would like to receive them before 4-8 weeks, but there is a large price difference, so please give me all shipping options & costs. Thank you!

Karen,

I'm afraid I can't give you an exact estimate for shipping. Ship time and cost depend on the ship to address, weight of package, and most importantly ship method selected. Thus, it is not possible to provide an accurate ship cost. Typically, you could expect to pay approximately $6 - $10 for shipping for one book within the US. However, that is a rough estimate.

We do offer a ship cost estimator on this page: http://www.viovio.com/wiki/Photo+Books
You would need to select the "Get a shipping quote right now" link. This quote is based on 1 40-page book so it is not accurate for, say, 500 books but it will give you a sense of the cost.

If your order total is over $30.00, we offer a flat rate ship cost of $7.99 for international shipping and $1.99 for domestic. This is a very slow ship method so don't use it if you are on a deadline. If time is not an issue then you may consider that option.

If you have the product in your account you can add it to your cart and view all our ship method options without having to complete the checkout process or give us credit card information.

If you have other questions or if I missed something please send a note to support :)

I would like to make a soft cover photo book of about 10 x 10 inches with a picture cover page like the Honeymoon in Greece books on this page. Where can I find this type of photo book among your products?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you,
Julian

Book still have a Viovio logo in the back?

by Joe Kuan, Tue 17 of Feb, 2009 (15:41 UTC)
I print a book long time age. Viovio logo in the back really bother me. Now I visit your website again and find no more mentioned on the logo. Is logo in the back was canceled?

Now that you can position the logo, it is much better. I can usually place it some place inconspicuous. I remember a long time ago on viovio when I had to move my back cover around so the logo wasn't in the middle of someone's face. What they've done by giving you this logo placement option is definitely a huge improvement. Also, the other book I've gotten published elsewhere also have there logos printed on the back (no choice where), or some of them have the logo printed on the last page which I found kind of irritating.

Joe, if I understand your question properly then yes there is a Viovio logo on the back of each book. You can put it in one of 9 locations, (top, center, bottom & left, center or right). You can add your own logo to appear on the back of the book or last page of the book if you would like.

There are two ways to ensure no Viovio logo will appear on the back of your book.
1) become a professional member and the viovio logo is removed from all your books. Here is a link to the page that gives information on the professional membership
2) on a per order basis you can pay $10 plus $2.50 per book to remove the logo from those particular books. This option is selected at checkout.

Does your base price include a certain number of free pages? Most other sites offer 20 pages for free in the base price.
