Photo Book Pricing

Viovio is committed to providing the highest quality photo books available, while keeping prices as low as possible. You may wonder why our prices are so low and why we are committed to keeping prices low.

Since every photo book is different, we have a simple formula to determine each book's price:

Base Cost + (Number of Pages * Page Cost) = Cost of Photo Book

For example, a 9x7 photo book has a $4.99 base cost, which includes all production costs such as set up and binding. The per page price is 25 cents per page, NOTE: each side of a piece of paper is a page — just like a novel. Shipping cost depends on the ship method you select and your ship to destination.

Example for a 20 page perfect bound softcover book: $4.99 + (20 * $.25) = $9.99

Our product catalog has pricing on additional sizes.

Make Mine Silk!

Our base cost is quoted for a digital satin finish for the interior pages. Many of our books have purchase time options you can add when placing your book into your shopping cart. For example, if you prefer a gloss look for your images, we offer digital silk paper for just 15% more. The paper will enhance the look of your printed images, and protect the pages in case a spill occurs. You will have time to wipe the spill off the book before the pages start soaking it up.

Bulk Up!

We also offer tremendous savings for bulk orders.

QuantityBulk DiscountExample 20 Page Soft Cover Book
1 $9.99
5-9 5% $9.49
10-99 10% $8.99
100-499 15% $8.49

To receive bulk pricing, simply add your book to your cart and increase the quantity. Your order total will be adjusted automatically. That's all there is to it!

Below are a few questions we receive on a regular basis about costs:

Pricing and Shipping FAQ

What does it cost to print a soft cover photo book?

We offer a variety of trim sizes and they each are priced using the formula base cost + per page cost. Here is a link to our product catalog that lists the trim sizes and prices.

How long are the production and shipping times?

The production process (printing) takes 8 business days for orders with 20 or fewer soft-cover books. The production process is 14 business days for the Pro bound hardcover books and 8 business days for the Quick bound hardcover books. The shipping time depends on the shipping method selected and the destination. Bulk orders (over 20 books per order) are produced within 10 business days.

My deadline is tight! Is expediting my order possible?

Orders that meet the following criteria are eligible for expedited manufacturing:

  • Soft cover book
  • Single title (Orders containing multiple titles cannot be expedited)
  • Saddle-stitched or perfect-bound (coil-bound and hardcover books are not eligible)
  • No more than 10 copies

Orders must be placed before 3PM (EST) to be shipped by the end of the next business day. The cost for expedited manufacturing is 25% of the ENTIRE order. Expedited orders are processed manually, and we suggest you email support@viovio.com as well as leave an order note during checkout.

What is the expected delivery time to (insert destination here)?

Delivery time depends on the ship to address, package weight, and shipping method selected. Typically, delivery within the US takes a week and it takes approximately 3 weeks for delivery from the US to the UK. We are working to improve this time to about 2 weeks and hope to have that in place soon.

I would like to purchase a gift certificate to your book making service. What should I do?

To purchase a gift certificate all you need to do is select the "shop" portion on the pink tab. Then select the "gift certificates" link on the screen. Select the "Viovio gift certificate" link. Key the amount of the gift that you would like to give, the email address of the individual to whom you want to give the gift, the date you would like them to receive it, and select the "add to cart" button.

When you have all the items you plan to purchase in your cart, simply select the checkout button and follow the checkout steps.

Are the prices displayed in my country's dollars?

We do give you the option for prices to be displayed in your currency. All you need to do is login, click the my account link (located in the upper right of the screen). Click preferences under the users column and then set your country and click the change preferences button.

Cookbooks?

Does your software allow for text boxes? I would like to make a cookbook with pictures and like the pricing of your small soft cover books. Please let me know before I spend the time downloading, etc. Thank you!

We don't have text boxes we offer creators the ability to add captions (titles and descriptions).

To add captions to your images all you need to do is select the gallery that contains the images, select the image to which you wish to add the caption, and select the "edit image" icon (paper and pencil) located in the upper right of the screen. On this edit page you can set the image title, write a description of the image, change the image, rotate the image, reduce the image size, set the security level, and key a travel location so that your image shows up in the travel section.

After you key the title or the description or both, click the SAVE IMAGE button.

Note: To see image captions in your book you MUST select the smart captions option. The images with titles will then be printed with a white border and the title centered below the image. Images that do not have captions will automatically be scaled to full bleed.

If you keyed descriptions you need to select the Advanced option and then select the Print Detailed Image Pages option.

Hi Lauren,

We have several options to create a book: the first two are our own software and are entirely web base. The Book Designer, the Book Machine. Our Designer is the easiest drag and drop tool, however it does not have advanced text and font handling. The Book Machine is very programatic.

The other way to print a book is to Upload a complete PDF. Use any desktop layout software and pdf creation software to make your PDF. Upload, and you are good to go! This is the most flexible option. If you have a Mac, Apple's Pages program from iWork is fabulous for projects like this. If you are on a PC, the latest Word has some nice templates, and will save out a PDF directly.

Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions!

Hi Huy,

We don't accept paypal as a standard payment method because the transaction fees are exorbitantly high, especially for smaller orders (for example, a $10 order has .59 cents in paypal fees which is nearly 6% of gross revenue for a purchase which is a big deal for a cost conscience business like ours). If you need to order, we can handle receiving a payment and then issue a store credit. Email support@viovio.com for more details. It's been a few years since we last considered it, so we might run the numbers again and see if things look better now...

Re: hardcover photo book

Hello ..... more questions regarding hardcover landscape, please ..... what is the biggest size for a casebound landscape book i can print, any bigger than US letter? The link shows sizes and specs indeed, but there are a few confusing things. For the 11”x8,5” hardcover, the max no of pages is set to 80. On the other hand, here viovio.com/wiki/Understanding+Book+Binding/ it says that the quick binding gives an option to up to 120 pages maximum. Even more, the pro binding option allows up to 160 pages max.

Can I go up to 160 pages for my US letter landscape, hard cover?

In an older thread, somebody mentioned the possibility of having a full image cover for the 11”x8,5” hardcover, instead of the die cut option listed for now in the specs page. Any news regarding it?
