Caridad,

You need to create the templates as PNG files :)

When you get some designs that you are ready to get up and selling, send the PNG files to designer@viovio.com and we'll convert them and get them live on your account. If you are brave, you can try to convert them yourself - see a webcast at:

http://www.viovio.com/wiki/Creating+Book+Designer+Templates

When you upload pages you can upload them as singles or in groups. You set the commission when editing your template from your Viovio.com account. The commission is added to the total cost of a book when any number of pages in your template album is used. When the book is purchased, you recieve a commission for *each* copy of the book sold.

If your template is $3, a 20 page 9"x7" book using that template will cost $4.99 + (20 * $.30) + 3 = $13.99 If two copies of the same book are purchased, you receive $6.

Payment is available in Paypal, Worldpay, Check, and Store Credit.

text captions

by Blue Angel, Wed 03 of Mar, 2010 (13:24 UTC)
Thank you.

I am trying to add text boxes to templates I am creating for the book designer software. I would like to give the user the option to add caption/text like I do with the image1, image2 etc boxes. Of course, this would be different because I want them to write on top of background label I designed. Would it be best to let them add text by using the method you described of adding captions and just leaving a blank tab/label for them to move the text into?

template captions

by Blue Angel, Tue 02 of Mar, 2010 (13:16 UTC)
Hi,

How do I set up captions for text. In the template creation video I only see images but I do see other templates have caption text on templates they've created.

Thanks.

Caridad,

Greetings from viovio and thanks for your interest.

Are you trying to ass text to your own template your created, or add text to an already existing template?

To add to an existing template click the Blue "A" on the right side, next to the page. This will allow you to enter captions in a text box that pops up below the page. These captions can be dragged around the page and resized to your liking.
Thank you for choosing Viovio. If you have other questions or if I missed something let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Professional membership

by Blue Angel, Thu 25 of Feb, 2010 (12:48 UTC)
Hi,

I have a professional membership and want to know if I am able to creat templates for sale with this type of membership. Also, it says you can earn a commission. What is the cost to sell the template on your site? Is there a charge?

Thanks.

Caridad,

All you need to do to get started is create a Viovio.com account and make some designs. We have no contracts and do not require exclusivity.

Leave a lot of room for bleed. We cut 1/8" from each side during trim. For big books, this is a very small amount. However, for small books such as a 5"x5", total trim is almost 5% of the book, and we recommend double.

I would leave 1" border on a 12"x12" layout, and that will give you plenty of room if a customer chooses to order the book at different sizes.

When you get some designs that you are ready to get up and selling, send the PNG files to designer@viovio.com and we'll convert them and get them live on your account. If you are brave, you can try to convert them yourself - see a webcast at:

Thank You

by Lindsey, Mon 22 of Feb, 2010 (19:09 UTC)
I've just received my first photo book which looks fantastic. Thank you so much for getting it to me quickly and with very high quality.
I printed my architectural portfolio, which has many pages of block colour and fine detail which I was worried about and it looks great.

I spent a lot of time doing research into the size, bleeding etc and it paid off, thank you so much and I will certainly be using viovio again. I like the quality and the price.

One thing that has confused me: I never discovered whether silk or premium printing is better as below a customer says silk is the most expensive, yet I'm sure I paid the most for the premium printing service.

Kind Thanks

Lindsey,

Greetings from viovio and thanks for your interest!

So good to hear that you are happy with your purchase :)

Our Premium Printing is the best quality product we offer, which comes with Premium binding and paper. Our Premium products are produced using 80# text Futura on a HP Indigo. As the Indigo is an ink based process, it provides a richer appearance for photographic printing. The paper level starts with satin, then silk, finishing with premium :)

If you have anymore questions please let us know!!
