I created a template but can't add drop zones.

by Juanita Avila, Sun 18 of Jul, 2010 (15:31 UTC)
I created a template called Gallery Black. Nothing happens when I click on each page template. If I select edit, a popup opens, but I can't do anything in the popup. Please let me know how to add drop zones.

Thanks,
Juanita

Juanita,

All you need to do to get started is create a Viovio.com account and make some designs. We have no contracts and do not require exclusivity.

Leave a lot of room for bleed. We cut 1/8" from each side during trim. For big books, this is a very small amount. However, for small books such as a 5"x5", total trim is almost 5% of the book, and we recommend double.

I would leave 1" border on a 12"x12" layout, and that will give you plenty of room if a customer chooses to order the book at different sizes.

When you get some designs that you are ready to get up and selling, send the PNG files to designer@viovio.com and we'll convert them and get them live on your account. If you are brave, you can try to convert them yourself - see a webcast at:

http://www.viovio.com/wiki/Creating+Book+Designer+Templates

When you upload pages you can upload them as singles or in groups. You set the commission when editing your template from your Viovio.com account. The commission is added to the total cost of a book when any number of pages in your template album is used. When the book is purchased, you recieve a commission for *each* copy of the book sold.

If your template is $3, a 20 page 9"x7" book using that template will cost $4.99 + (20 * $.30) + 3 = $13.99 If two copies of the same book are purchased, you receive $6.

Payment is available in Paypal, Worldpay, Check, and Store Credit.

If you have any other questions please let us know!

Page templates?

by Ronna Newsom, Tue 05 of Jan, 2010 (06:17 UTC)
So do I understand that to create a photo book with a page that has, say for instance 8 photos that I have to create it in another software before I load it up? I'm usually pretty good with software, but when I went to try out a "test" book before I load up all my photos - I could only:
1. Load up photos 1 by 1
2. In making a Portrait Photo book, there are virtually no templates other than the 1 photo per page. What am I missing?

Hello Ronna,

there are several ways to do your book with multi-photo pages. You can indeed assemble your pages in any software you like offline. Then you can save either as PDF or as single jpeg files to use the book machine.

You can read more about those options here.
www.viovio.com/products/wizard.php

But you can just as well upload your photos and use templates (pre made books, you assemble online). There are not that many available for the portait books, but they do have multi-photo pages. We have this one:
www.viovio.com/designer/template/265

But there is a free one from viovio as well. All free ones can be viewed here:
www.viovio.com/support.
Click on the previews to see a detailed description with all pages in the pack.

As for the multi-photo upload, I know that this is possible, but I have no clue what could be wrong in your case. I'm sure someone from the viovio team will soon answer that question.
