Hi Amy,

I'm afraid the only way to solve low DPI is to get better images. Make sure you have the largest pictures you can get ahold of... Saving images off the internet are typically 1/4 of the size you need to get a high quality image.

Where did the images come from originally?

Need to go ahead with order...won't allow it yet

by amy goff, Wed 02 of May, 2012 (05:05 UTC)

Hi again. I am trying to get these printed now, realizing a few pics will be a little blurry. Would like to have the back of the front cover and back cover used to save pages and $$$ I will be ordering 45 copies for the teams and don't want to spend a fortune. I can't get it to collate and go to the web options for order and payment. Also, I hope I can get a break with the # ordered as well.
Thanks for your help,
Amy

Hi, Amy!

We do not print on the backside of the front and back covers. Page 1 begins on the right, just like a novel. To rearrange the pages, click on "Arrange Pages" in the designer. Drag the pages in the order you wish and then click on Save.

I hope this helps! Feel free to email us at support@viovio.com if you have any other questions.

Single / Double sided

by K, Sat 21 of Apr, 2012 (21:33 UTC)
Hi
I've uploaded pages for a book but am confused about the pages of the book. In the 'Detailed Photo Book Information' tables some options say 1-sided, some say double-sided but most do not mention it. Should I assume that the pages are double sided?

Also - what goes on the page on the reverse of the front cover and back cover? Is it just blank? Similarly, if you want a blank page inserted into our book, how do we do that?

Thanks
K

Hi, K!

All products are double sided unless they specify one-sided. The back of the front and back cover are blank. For hardcover books, there are black endpages in the front and back of the book. If you want a blank page and you are using the designer, create an extra page, click inside the drop zone to add a caption and then just leave it blank.

Pictures & Text

by K, Mon 02 of Apr, 2012 (18:46 UTC)
Hello - I'm thinking about creating a 8.5x11 portrait book using Viovio which will have pages of alternating text and photos. Meaning 1 page will have a photo nearly the size of the page and the opposite page will have text (a story about the picture). Can I have this much text? Can I import text or use copy & paste since each 'story' is coming from a separate student.
Thanks!

Hi, K!

Yes, you can use text along with photos! To add text, you just click on "Add Caption". You can copy and past text, but I recommend copying an pasting from Notepad. If you copy and paste from a program like word, there is hidden code than can cause the text to appear wonky. Here is a screencast on how to add captions:

I hope this helps!
