Pricing help

by Mark Kelly, Mon 05 of Jan, 2009 (16:53 UTC)
I'm still a little confused on your pricing. I understand I would need to order a minimum of 4 of the 3.75 x 2.5 books. If I make a 20 page book my costs are 4.99 plus 2.50 (20 x .125) = 7.49. Is that for one book, or four? What is my price per 20 page book for quantities over four? Please explain - final cost is $.50 / document page.

I don't think I could give you an estimate. Ship time and cost depend on ship to address, weight of package and most importantly ship method selected. Thus, it is not possible to provide an accurate ship cost. Typically, you could expect to pay approximately $6 - $10 for shipping for one book within the US. However, that is a rough estimate.

We do offer a ship cost estimator on this page http://www.viovio.com/wiki/Photo+Books
You would need to select the "Get a shipping quote right now" link. This quote is based on 1 40-page book so it is not accurate for say 500 books but it will give you a sense of the cost.

If your order total is over $30.00 we offer a flat rate ship cost of $7.99 for international shipping and $1.99 for domestic. This is a very slow ship method so don't use it if you are on a deadline. If time is not an issue then you may consider that option.

If you have the product in your account you can add it to your cart and view all our ship method options without having to complete the checkout process or give us credit card information.

Mark, I know we sent this information to you separately. I thought it would be helpful for others so I'm posting it here

Yes, the minimum page count is 20 for the mini books. We need that many pages so that the binding holds nicely.

Here is a link to the mini book page that lists the minimum page count and on that page there is a link to technical specs where you can get costs and page counts, etc.

The pricing is a bit confusing since you get 2, 3, or 4 books depending on the option you select. The costing structure for the mini books is $4.99 base plus .50 per page.

For an example — pricing for the 3.75x2.5 Mini 4-Pack, is $4.99 base (which covers the set up, printing of the covers and binding) plus .50 per page.

So to get a 20-page 4-pack of the 3.75x2.5 Mini 4-Pack, books it would cost $4.99 + $10 (20*.5) = $14.99. That is total cost for all 4 books. You would get 4 books so each book would cost $3.75.

If you take $14.99 subtract out the base cost of $4.99 you get $10.00. If you divide $10.00 by 80 (which is the number of pages printed) your cost per page printed is .125.

With the 4 pack you receive 20 X 4 in terms of pages so 20x4 = 80 pages.

AS A NOTE: we trim 1/8" and 1/8" is a greater percentage of the book for the mini books than it is for say an 8.5x11 book. In other words 1/8" is a greater percentage of 5" than it is of 8.5".
