Lilla Town

Lilla is located on left side off main National Motoway Exit for the Salt Mines as you cross over Jhelum River bridge. Mian Nizam Din Chughtai family is well known to the area for serving the local community. Most of the family members migrated to USA in late 1960's and settled around Washington DC.

Uras of Pir Khara Sharief is held nearby in the foot hills known for treatment and cure from Kidney stones after bathing in salt water stream and visit the shrine Dar Gaah of Pir Sahib. Thousands visit in March every year to attend the Uras Sharif.

Lilla Sharif gave birth to a number well known personalities who have contributed a lot in the country. There is a famous sharine of a Naqshbandi silsala of Hazrat Allal hulam Nabi. Moreover a famous islamic scholar Mr. Khalid Masud (1935-2003) belonged to same family. He was pupil of Maulana Amin Ahsan Islahi. He wrote, compiled and translated anumber of books in the field of not only Islam but also in the field of Chemistry and Childern Literature.
