A District in Congo Democratic Republic Of The. Bafwasende is about 170 m N E of Kisangani on a major route from the E. border near Uganda through the heart of Africa,the Trans African Highway. It is in Haute Zaire by the Lindi River. There is a hospital built by the Belgians in 1930 or so,there was a grouping of 6 houses with concrete floors and what I suspect were asbestos roofs,for hospital employees. A grass airstrip was a short distance away,probably now heavily used by treasure grubbing outsiders
Corn and peanuts could be grown,.Onions,potatoes,rice were all trucked in.
