A beach in Angola, Africa.
Praia Morena is the beach of the town of Benguela. The beach as such is sufficient to have a small walk when you are in Benguela, but you will not feel comfortable to take a sun bath there and much less to swimm. The water is usually dirty because of the mixture of the waters of catumbela river. These waters also bring a lot of garbage which often is swept to the beach. Administration does something to clean the beach now and then.
Along the beach there is a relativly short street, where you find the hospital, the governer´s palace (ist´s really a palace!) from colonial times, the museum for prehistory and some houses from colonial times. Actually a big restaurant directly on the beach in under reconstruction. It should be great if they might finish one day.
Going further north of the hospital you come to the areas of slum areas. The inhabitants of these area are mainly people which left their home during the war and never went back again. It is not dangerous there, but the beach is used as public toilette.
Going South of the other end of the road you come to some fishingman areas and ship repairs and finally to military area, where trespassing is forbitten. The next beach is Praia San Antonio.
