Highlands Mansion 20 mi.outside Waco,Tx. 1 Blk.off Hwy 6 on Mcclannahan Rd.(Hwy 147) was built between 1898-1900 and is the finest Victorian mansion in Central Texas still standing. It reflects true victorian oppulence at the turn of the century in Texas with its oval stained glass dome soaring 2 1/2 stories above in the Great Hall. Second Story Orchestra Balcony overlooking the Great Hall. Twin Formal Parlors with bygone ornate plaster & gold leafing fitting for royalty. Sitting majestically on 4 1/2 acres of beautiful live oak trees with long winding driveway, it sits in a world by itself & still reflects oppulence today. Built of sturdy cypress and oak trim. It would be near impossible to duplicate today.
