Khunda is one of the prominent villages in District Attock, located 70 km north of Islamabad (Pakistan’s capital) on the fatehjang –Kohat Road. Almost everyone in this village speaks their native Punjabi and majority of households are dependent on agriculture with wheat and peanuts as major crops. The village is famous for its political representation in the National and Provincial politics throughout Pakistan’s history. The prominent names include Malik Allah Yar Khan who was elected MNA in 2001 elections and later became the Chairman of the PAC, Sardar Sarfraz an Ex-member of National and Provincial Assemblies and Malik Atta Muhammad who served as the Chairman of District Council.
Although i was bron in Khunda and have had lived some years of my life there but i had to leave my beautifull village just because of studies and no opportities. Infact it is beautifull village , people are nice,friendly and hospitable.
Malik Allahyar khan donated land for construction of high schools for boys and girls, aswell as a basic health unit, and a vetnary clinic.
The village has electricity and water supply scheme. most pof the roads are concreted. it has a fiber link with the outside world.
Khunda also is a market town with the surrounding villages.

Sardar Dost muhammad khan a visionary farmer with no formal education, visualised, planned the layout of the Mirjal farms. He identified the sights for construction of mini dams in the area around mirjal. He was a pioneer and probably the first farmer to set up water lifting irrigation systen in this part of the country, which was barren with low rain fall intensity. To prove his point he succesfully sowed rice suger cane and different vegetables along with the large citrus orchard. The first mini dam was built around 1960-1961. due to his vision he consolidated his land holdings which were spread over many villages, surrendering fertile lands for barren fields. He endured physical hardship in the hot june summers to personally oversee the layouts and levelling of agricultural fields. He gradully built larger dams, the biggest one on nalla 'Totaal' was constructed in 1964. the diesel lift ingines were replaced with electric moters and pumps. Exotic fruits for this area such as mangoes guavas leechi were successfully planted and grown. He later on established fish hatchery and fish farms.
sardar dost muhammad as a forward agriculturist was was among the first few agriculturists to purchase a tractor. later on he gradully expanded and purchased other agricultural implements. he purshased a combined harwester in 1969/70 which was probably the first in the norther punjab.
