Re: richard green
Yes, you are very much remembered. I was a boy 15 years old when I had the privilege working with you building public toilets in Acoje. I worked for only 10 days because I was too young to do labor work. But I enjoyed it so much. That was my first paying job. (Earning eight (8) pesos a day) I do remember I gave half of my earnings to my parents and kept the rest to myself. That was a summer job for vacationing students. Its a wothwhile experience working with you. It taught me how to value hard earned money. Thank you for being a part of our lives. I am now a Regional Trial Court Judge in Las Pinas City, Metro Manila. Both my parents are gone now. They both died in the US a year ago. About Acoje I posted some pictures at Flicker and videos at You tube. judgevibandor@gmail.com
Re: richard green
i am an acojenian. my parents started living in
acoje around 1967, i was born 1972. In 1989
acoje started to collapse in operation, families
were forced to move out in search for any
source of living in other places. at present
there are still 100 families who remained in
the place.
my family is now living in manila. it is very
heartwarming to know that somebody out there
remembered & loved acoje. i would be more
than willing to share news about the place,
you may email me at: debbieazan_md@yahoo.com
we are actually holding an acojenians' reunion
this dec 22, 2006, i will be sharing my
internet meeting with you.
PS: according to my source, acoje will start
operating again this jan 2007, an australian
group will be managing.
