Apple Aperture

Apple's prfoessional level image editing software

Aperture is a high end software application for photograph organization and developing. Along with Adobe Lightroom these applications are favored by professional photographers for their productivity and sophisticated tools.

Aperture allows you to create a photo book right in the program, much like its smaller sibling sibling application, Apple iPhoto Book Printing.

Creating a Special Photo Book PDF

Image
1. Click the "Buy Book" in the upper right of the main window.
2. Click through the process until you can see a "Preview" button.
3. The book will open in Apple Preview or Acrobat, and you can choose File -> Save As... to save the PDF to your Desktop.

Proper Margins for the Cover Page

Many Aperture users want to create Imagewrap Hardcover books. This is very easy to do, however you may need to adjust the location of your text on the Cover page because extra margin is needed to allow wrapping of the printed cover over the corners of the book. Interior pages do not need to be adjusted.
By default, Aperture puts your title too close to the edge.
Click Edit Layout and use the square handles to move the text boxes towards the center of the page.
Interior pages are OK since only 1/8" is cut from each side, so there is no need to adjust those.

I Have already prepared with the option of extra large hardocover 13 x 10 a photobook through aperure 3 (Mac).(Is it ok for you can you print it?)
I intend to buy the book from viovio but i cannot follow the process you describe
You Say ---1. Click the "Buy Book" in the upper right of the main window.-- it;s ok
2. Click through the process until you can see a "Preview" button. — i cannot because i;m from Greece and entering my apple id doesn;t give this option because probably apple doesn;t sell photobooks here.
What should i do in order to print that book uploading the correct pdf file?

Thanks in advance

vassilisk,

Greetings from Viovio!

Unfortunately this is something within Apples Aperture software so we aren't able to help with this in any way.

You can try to save the interior pages as a pdf the standard way. Then try to upload it as a regular "photo book" vs an Apple book ( http://www.viovio.com/products/pdf/ ). And then upload the cover separately at Step 2 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCzvd1emPB8&list=UUgWmJwU2t0SRxjGkHaEVzGA&index=10&feature=plcp ).

I cannot guarantee that this will work, but it is the only other option for trying that I can give you.

Greetings from Viovio!

Since we are a separate company from Apple you will need to create an account with Viovio in order to print with us!

You can do this here: http://www.viovio.com/users/register.php

Once you've created the account and Registered with us then you can log in using this information.

Once you've saved the file as per the instructions above then you can upload it here: http://www.viovio.com/products/pdf/ Make sure you to select the "Apple iPhoto ® or Aperture Photo Book Check this box if you have a special iPhoto or Aperture Photo Book PDF." option under Book PDF Settings.

If you have any questions along the please let us know here or at support@viovio.com and we will help in any way we can!

Aperture Extra Large 13x10 margins for VioVio 12.5x10

by Joshua Clapper, Sun 18 of Nov, 2012 (14:30 UTC)
Hello,
I've created a PDF from Aperture for an Extra Large sized book, which is 13x10.
Your offering is sized 12.5x10.
How do you account for this size difference? Are the book pages cropped? Are they resized?
I'd like to understand so I can properly adjust the margins and photo placements if necessary.

Cheers,
jc
