The width of the 2 page spread should be the 8.5 + 8.5 + .25 = 17.25x11.25 Then with the .25 to account for bleed.

Question: What dimensions should we use to set up a two page spread for an 8 1/2 x 11 (portrait) book? For a regular page we've been using 8.75 x 11.25 (with 1/4" margins), so for the two page spread we doubled the width-- 17.5 x 11.25. However, it didn't seem to quite fit and cut off the sides.
